What we collect and why

Account information. When you register, we collect your username, email address, and date of birth. We use your date of birth to verify you are aged 18 or over, as required by law for alcohol-related services. Your email address is used for account management and, if you opt in, communications about the app.

Usage data. We record the beers you log ("sups"), including optional rating, tasting notes, and the date and time. This data forms your personal collection and is the core purpose of the app.

Location data. If you choose to add a location to a sup, we store an approximate location (rounded to approximately 111 metres). Location is always optional and off by default.

Unknown barcode submissions. If you scan a barcode not in our catalogue and submit it for review, we store the barcode value and your optional suggested name.

Device and technical data. We collect crash reports and error logs via Sentry to diagnose technical problems. We use PostHog (EU cloud) for anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used.
